We are a profession separate from OBs, paediatricians and physiotherapists; we should not allow others to be responsible for writing our protocols. Yes, where there is overlap, we could work as a team to create guidelines for the working area. But ultimately, we should be creating a framework that works for us.

Hands are a gift—their intricate workings, the sensitivity in the fingertips. Hands can convey so much, do so much. The activities that hands undertake daily are numberless, and to be without one or both can make life a great challenge. (Try using only one hand for a day, and you’ll see what I mean!)
As I prepare this article… I am conscious of two major reports released here in the U.K. in recent months.
