Holly Scholles, CPM, has been a direct entry midwife since 1978. She was certified by the North American Registry of Midwives in 1996 and licensed in Oregon in 1993.She has a Masters degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Texas and a Masters in Bicultural Anthropology from Emory University. She founded the Association of Texas Midwives in 1979.

She serves on the Oregon Midwifery Council (OMC) and founded Birthingway College of Midwifery (then Birthingway Midwifery School) in 1993 and is still its President. She is involved with many other midwifery organizations, teaches, and lectures on topics related to women’s health, midwifery, and midwifery education. Ms. Scholles is the homebirth mom of two, and lives in Estacada, Oregon, with her family, a cute cat obsessed with feathers, and a collection of deranged chickens.
