Alongside inspiring and empowering stories of birth come negative stories of pain, scary interventions and unexpected outcomes. While it’s important to honor all stories, doula Rina Crane considers how we can all work “to help make the positive birth story the only one there is to tell.”
Rina Crane is a homemaker for her husband and two young children in New York City. She is also a part-time doula, childbirth educator and lactation educator. Rina coordinates the Bronx Volunteer Doula Program and is looking forward to starting a community-based doula program in the near future.
