Working as a home health aide while pursuing her midwifery education, Rachel Knudsen discovers the parallels between the way people enter the world and the way they leave it, and makes the case for both conscious birth and conscious death.
Rachel Knudson is a midwife in southern Minnesota. She earned a BA in anthropology from Grinnell College where she was introduced to contemporary midwifery. Rachel has studied midwifery with the National College of Midwifery and the House of the Matrona and apprenticed in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She expresses her gratitude to all the wise women mentors who have inspired and encouraged her along her labyrinthine journey and the numerous families who have invited her to be a witness to their transformations.
