Keeping the Midwifery Today Community Safe

Here in the US, we continue to hope for the best as we keep an eye on the latest information regarding Covid-19. You, our community of birth practitioners and parents, have been in our hearts and minds, especially these last two years, and we hope that you and all your loved ones are healthy and doing well. Midwifery Today takes Covid-19 and your safety very seriously.

We had postponed all of our conferences in 2020 and now intend to reschedule the same programs and venues, as well as new programs and venues, in 2022 and later. However, there may be some changes, such as teachers, depending on their availability. We are grateful for your patience and understanding as we get our conferences back up and running.

We were so happy to meet last September in Eugene, Oregon, for our first conference since this started. We followed the latest guidelines and information to keep everyone safe. The theme was Gentle Birth; Gentle Midwifery. To learn more about this and other past conferences, please visit: https://www.midwiferytoday.com/past-conferences.

Currently, we are very excited about our Montclair, New Jersey, conference. We can’t wait to see you! The dates are set for April 20–23, 2022, and we will continue our efforts to keep everyone safe. The theme is Sharing Midwifery Skills and Practices. For more information and to register, visit the Montclair Conference web page: https://www.midwiferytoday.com/conference/montclair-new-jersey-2022.

In the summer, we’d love for you to join us in Berkeley, California, for a revolutionary conference with the theme of The Birth Revolution. The dates are June 19–22, 2022. Our confirmed speakers are Gail Hart, Peggy Vincent, Marion Toepke McLean, Diana Paul, Lois Wilson, Deb Puterbaugh, and Jan Tritten. Learn more about the Berkeley Conference: https://www.midwiferytoday.com/conference/berkeley-california-2022.

For this fall, we are planning our international conference in the beautiful little town of Bad Wildbad, Germany. We’ve had to delay it since 2020, so we are hopeful and delighted to make it happen this year! Keep an eye on the Germany Conference web page for more information: https://www.midwiferytoday.com/conference/bad-wildbad-germany-conference-2022.

We are also looking even further into the future for Midwifery Today and hope to coordinate a conference in Greece! You can join our Greece Conference Facebook Group for updates here: www.facebook.com/groups/277948217018414.

Other than our conferences, we continue to publish our online magazine. We try to post at least one new article each week. Quarterly, we put all the articles together with a beautiful cover, along with the usual columns and departments that we had in the print magazine, and create a PDF. You can access articles with an Online Membership or through Back Issues (print or PDF formats).

We closed our office at the beginning of 2020 and everyone has been working  from their homes. We are excited to resume our in-person staff meetings safely very soon.

Be assured that we are still committed to providing essential information on birth! You also can still order products from our store. It’s always a good time to further your education. In addition to the hundreds of online articles, we also have e-books that can be easily downloaded.

Please stay safe and keep the faith as we ride out Covid-19.

Toward Better Birth.
