Orders

What payment methods does Midwifery Today accept?

Midwifery Today accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, MidwiferyToday.com gift certificates, and checks, money orders, or cashier’s checks issued in U.S. dollars.


When will I receive my order?

United States (U.S.)—Most orders ship within 24 hours, Monday–Friday. Delivery generally takes 3–10 days. Orders ship from Oregon making delivery faster to West Coast addresses. Please allow an additional 7 days for orders paid by check.

Canada—Most orders ship within 24 hours, Monday–Friday. Delivery generally takes 7–14 days. Please allow an additional 7 days for orders paid by check.

All other countries—Most orders ship within 48 hours, Monday–Friday. Delivery generally takes 2–4 weeks. Please allow an additional two weeks for orders paid by check.

Will there be import duties and taxes charged on my order?

For orders outside the U.S., you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. Additionally, when ordering from Midwiferytoday.com, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.

Shipping

What shipping methods are used?

Continental U.S.—U.S.Postal Service, UPS Ground or UPS Second Day. If your address is not served by a particular carrier, please inform us in the Notes field during checkout. Additional charges may apply when you select the carrier.

Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico—U.S. Postal Service or UPS Second Day.

U.S. Territories,U.S.Armed Forces—U.S. Postal Service, no rush service available.

Canada—U.S. Postal Service airmail, no rush service available.

All other countries—U.S. Postal Service airmail, no rush service available.

Should I pay for rush shipping?

Delivery within the U.S.—if you need your order in less than 7 days, we recommend shipment by UPS Second Day.

Regardless of shipping method please inform us of any deadline you may have, and we will make every effort to meet it. Please type your request in the Notes field during checkout or give us the deadline when ordering by phone or mail.

Delivery to all other countries—Sorry, we offer rush shipping for U.S. addresses only.


Is rush shipping available for delivery outside the U.S.?

Rush shipping is not available for delivery outside the U.S.


What is the deadline for same day shipping of rush orders?

For same day shipping we must receive your order by noon Pacific Time. Sorry, there is no same day shipping available for destinations outside the U.S.

Subscriptions

When will I receive my first issue?

For delivery to the U.S. and Canada, you will generally receive your first issue 1–2 weeks from the time you subscribe. However, if you subscribe shortly before release of the new issue, your first issue will arrive in 3–4 weeks. Please see publication dates below.

For delivery outside the U.S. and Canada, there are only four mailings per year. Subscriptions received after the quarterly mailing are not sent the first issue until the following quarter. For that reason, delivery of the first issue can take anywhere from 3–20 weeks. For an additional US$5.00 we can send your first issue by airmail with a delivery time of 2–4 weeks.

How can I find out the status of my subscription?

The mailing label on your magazine shows the expiration issue.

Can I cancel my subscription and receive a refund?

Subscriptions are non-refundable. If you cancel you may receive credit toward another purchase or transfer your subscription to another person.

Please be aware that there are graphic depictions of childbirth in Midwifery Today publications. You may not want to subscribe if explicit photographs of the human body offend you.

Why am I receiving renewal notices already?

There are several possibilities.

  1. Your subscription may have been entered after the renewal notice was generated. In this case, the notices will stop soon.
  2. You have two or fewer issues of Midwifery Today left in your subscription. Renewal notices for Midwifery Today begin when there are two issues remaining in your subscription. Please disregard the notices if you are not ready to renew. Note that the first renewal notice contains a discount if you renew early.
  3. One or more of your issues did not arrive so it seems that the subscription should not be due for renewal. Please e-mail orders@midwiferytoday.com if you believe you are missing issues. Please provide your mailing address so we can check the accuracy of our records.

If you believe your expiration issue is incorrect or you have any other subscription problems, please e-mail orders@midwiferytoday.com for assistance.


Can I receive a free sample copy?

Sorry, we do not offer free sample copies, but we do have a special price on a sample copy.

Returns, Refunds and Exchange

What is the return policy?

The return policy varies by product type.

  • Audio—MP3s, CDs and audio tapes are non-refundable. Occasionally recordings have technical problems that we are not aware of because the sound is spot-checked for problems. You may exchange recorded media with technical problems for another title or for credit toward another purchase within 120 days of purchase. CDs sold in packages, such as the Beginning Midwives Package, have been reviewed for sound quality and are unlikely to have technical problems.
  • Video—DVDs are non-refundable once they have been opened. Unopened video products may be returned for an exchange or refund within 60 days of purchase. DVDs in unsealed cases (i.e., not shrink-wrapped) may be returned if they have not been viewed. Defective videos may be returned for an exchange or a refund within 90 days of purchase.
  • Subscriptions—Subscriptions are non-refundable. See below.
  • All other products (books, back issues, clothing and accessories, birth art, jewelry)—You may return these items for an exchange or refund within 60 days of purchase if they are in salable condition.

How do I return a purchase?

Midwifery Today will retain the shipping and handling fee on returns unless an item was defective or sent in error. You will receive credit or reimbursement for the cost of return shipping on defective items or those sent in error.
