Derek Lainsbury was a Counselor in Health and Care when he wrote this article, working specifically with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and addiction. Since then he has worked as a clinical therapist, counsellor and facilitator in a variety of settings. He has a Masters Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and taught in that field for 15 years.
